Paid for flight but company continued to re-schedule. In the end took our money and never gave us a flight. Criminals.

As seems to be the case for a lot of reviewers I never got my flight(s), which I bought as a birthday present for my husband's 30th birthday! We tried and tried and tried again with no luck and despite having an issue with the booking process and my serial number they never fixed it so I had to do a lengthy email process whenever I wanted to rebook my flight (as by the time we had finished emailing what I wanted was gone, etc) - so I couldn't just keep conveniently booking my flight on the website. The woman just ignored this request for it to be sorted for me on several occasions. I accept the T&Cs stated no refunds after a year - but I am trying to get a refund for a £15 in flight photo I paid for and obviously never got. I have sent two emails about this and am just being ignored, to keep my money for a photo which was never taken adds some serious insult to injury and to not even say they wont do it outright is even ruder. I would avoid at all costs and research it - and maybe recommend trying Virgin. I wish I had!

I flew with Bristol Balloon on the last day of the balloon fiesta. It was very exciting despite being a little nervous before the flight. As we took off, I waved to the crowds below and everybody cheered...someone said " it's like being royalty".
With pilot Steve we drifted low over the tree tops of Leigh woods, then up to 3000 feet I believe, we saw the fabulous sunset sunshine on the estuary. Steve pointed out places of local interest and we flew rather low over concord at Filton airport. We landed at Thornbury golf course and helped pack up the balloon.
It is an experience of a lifetime and well worth the long wait and the cancellations due to bad weather. I would like to thank the pilot Steve, George and Terry the crew and all at Bristol Balloons for making this memorable.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

I was given a gift voucher for my birthday to go on a balloon trip with Bristol Balloons in the summer of 2010 which I was very excited about. Each time I attempted to book a trip it was cancelled due to "bad weather" - this happened 5 times over the course of the summer. On at least 2 of those occasions the weather was absolutely still & perfect as the forecast had predicted yet, suspiciously, the trips were cancelled.

On the last occasion a trip was cancelled due to the weather, I asked the office if I could carry over my voucher to 2011 as the season was coming to an end. I was told this was absolutely fine to extend the period as I'd tried to redeem the voucher but had been unlucky with the conditions.

Come summer 2011, I tried, at the earliest chance I had, to book another flight but got the manager saying that my opportunity had passed & he wouldn't let me re-book as my voucher had officially expired. Despite my best efforts he refused to budge & pocketed the £85 without consideration for the friend who'd bought the gift for me - he refused to consider even a partial refund.

Not only do I suspect that Bristol Balloons cancelled perfectly fly-able days under the guise of poor weather conditions but the customer service was inconsistent, inflexible & rude. I have subsequently discovered other people who had similar experiences with this company & would urge them to post reviews up here to share their stories.

Ultimately, I feel ripped off by Bristol Balloons & suggest that customers find one of the many other companies providing this service who are much more flexible given the unpredictable aspects of what should be a very special gift.
