Fabulous gym with lots of space, light and a great pool. Excellent day time classes with superb teachers, Barrie and Ross to name 2. Tackow on reception deserves a shout as he searched for 4 days for my coat I left there, he is a shining example of great customer service.

Spacious gym floor with plenty of natural light, recently refurbished so the place is looking brand new, friendly staff always willing to help out and say hi to you.

(3.7/5) Nice gym area and brand new changing rooms especially since the recent refurb. Opening time is a bit tight for anyone working in the city, 30mins earlier like some other Virgin gyms would actually make it possible to do a proper workout in the morning.

It's definitely one of the largest pools in the area, but not super convinced about the hygiene standards, seen a few bits and pieces float around in the pool when swimming and although there is a "shower before using the pool" sign, in practise it doesn't seem enforced and people just tend do jump in without showering

On the plus side, they do some good classes and the sport studios are large, airy and give on to trees outside which is a nice touch.

So basically great potential but still some room for improvement !

A tad confusing place as there's a Virgin Active and a council pool in the same building, with different entrances. Both are operated by Virgin Active. This review only covers the public pool. Which is lovely. 8 lanes of swimming first thing in the morning? Cracking!

The facilities were clean (although the pool perhaps needed a little of a clean on my visit, but nothing major) and the staff friendly and helpful.And at £3.20, the charge is cheaper than the £4.15 charged by Better at other pools in the borough.

I loved this Virgin active the most out of all the ones I went to in London. Really great trainers and lots of space. I even tried to come here after work rather than go to my local in the city. I eventually changed as the prices for a premium gym was too much. A downside was that they didn't seem too happy I had split my time between Moorgate and here, which was a little strange. Of course as it's a bigger gym, you don't get a personal feel going through the main gates.
