Mogilev Region is planning to put more emphasis on the development of tourist services, Interfax-West learnt from the regional economy committee. The volume of tourist services is expected to rise by 40% next year, the source added. In particular, the volume of sport services is expected to expand by 30%, culture services - 17%. The volume of consumer services is expected to grow by 25%, medical services - 16%, education services - 10%, communication services - 14. 8%. The sales of for-fee services are expected to rise by 14% on the year.
Mogilev (also spelled Mahilyow, also transliterated Mahiloŭ, Mahilioŭ, Mogilyov ; Магілёў, ; Могилёв,) is a city in eastern Belarus, about 76 km from the border with Russia's Smolensk Oblast and 105 km from the border with Russia's Bryansk Oblast. It has more than 367, 788 inhabitants (2007 estimate). and the third largest city in Belarus.
