When they tell you to arrive 30 minutes early, that means come 30 minutes late. I have had 3 appointments here over the last 4 months everyone was at least 30 minutes late. If you can go somewhere else I would highly recommend it.

Tampa General has the best team of doctors, nurses, patient care techs, and many more great team members. I have been take care of so well!!!! I truly wish I had made a decision to use this facility before using others in the area. They deserve all the awards and praise they receive!!!!

waiting hours. while they don't call any one. but keep saying they are getting people in. i watched them bring people in. and it took over 10 mins to pull the person out. that person must have taken the whole hospital to get right. or was already dead. either way. ER is worthless. unless you want to wait 5 hrs with only 5 people in front of you. go somewhere else.

This hospital has come a long way from. It is "one of the best" hospitals in Florida. Yes, we are in a place that is not only a teaching hospital, but we entrust our care to the physicians and nurses and other staff that work there. Are you guaranteed an excellent experience every time? No. We must remember that hospitals are managed by people. People come in all shapes, sizes and personalities. People in a hospital environment have lives too. They always strive to do their best and get us what we need to get the patients out as quickly as possible. We must remember when one is sick in the hospital we are not as pleasant as when we are at home and feel well. There are rules, insurance rules, capcity rules, patient to staff ratios etc. I can write thousands of things that an employee has to do just for one patient. When our needs are not met, we tend to become less patient especially in the hospital. I've had good quality service at this facility and I've had horrible ones too. When you balance them the positives outweigh the negatives. Please keep that in mind when you are in a hospital as a patient or a loved one in the hospital be patient.
The patient care is very good. It may get better on some floors and not so good in other floors. They may be understaffed. We need to take this into consideration. The physicians that are hired by Tampa General Hospital and by the University of South Florida has greatly improved. They hire top notch professors and scientist not like they did 20 years ago. Please remember that the person taking care of you, unless you are in an Intensive Care Unit has other patients to care for not just 2 or three. They have as many as 10 at times and you might not be in better shape than others that take more time.

I was in Tampa for a convention. Ran into a leg problem. I'm from out of town not knowing area and a little scared being out of my comfort zone not knowing what to expect with my visit at Tampa General. Well I was surprised with the quickness, promptness and professionalism I got while there. I was treated with prompt care and one of the most friendliest staff from the time I walked through the door until I walked out. My many thanks to all the Nurses, Ultrasound technician, Doctors and Staff who were at my side during this visit. Job well done. Again thanks for all your help in my time of need.
